No, it's because of things you said early on in the game... defending the other wolves... and because of how you confronted me when I pointed out the votes in the suspicion poll.
Honestly? I didn't care from the beginning which side won, as long as our important people survived. And I guess trying to rationalize things in a situation where people are panicking is just... well, not human nature, but my nature.
I would've thought the fact that both Itachi and I lost it after Sasuke, Chizuru, Axel, and Umeda died would be proof enough that we would never want to put them or ourselves through that, but as people are freaking out all over the place that no longer holds any water.
This was all before last night's events. I... honestly don't know how I overlooked Itachi-san's brother, but, as you said, that doesn't matter anymore.
I'm being cautious only because I'm not sure whether to trust the rest of the sheep or not. I know you two would understand because you've been losing important people too, but the rest...
I... frankly can't think of any other way to protect them, without stretching the game out more... So at this point I'm willing to do whatever the Shepherd wants.
And if I want to? I have gathered the last remnants of my sanity to manage enough conversations for tonight, but if I have to do it one more night I may end up killing a few people myself. And I'd prefer going out like this-- to end the game early, to help a few terrified kids-- than watching them have to put themselves through this again. You know no one suspects Genis and Mithos hardly at all. It's us and the twins who are most likely to go up to ousting; which means we'd prolong the game another night for more innocent, probably unrelated people to die, and for the rest of the players to feel more scared and helpless than they ever have.
I am a selfish, arrogant, paranoid asshole, Itachi. But I remember what being a child trapped in a terrifying situation you can't get out of feels like. I remember it well. And if it will end the game early, even if there's a sliver of a chance-- I want to do it. Even if it means asking you to die with me.

As a tangent, at least one or two more teams believe you're the last wolves.

How strongly would you disagree to having us take it instead?
