Did I? Well, I'm sure people in that sort of situation must react differently from others. Maybe it's a circumstantial thing.

[identity profile] dullahammered.livejournal.com 2011-08-27 05:50 am (UTC)(link)
[laughs]

We were in a considerably more comfortable situation than regular blanks. Didn't have to play in games or risk our lives for food on an everyday basis.

[identity profile] informadick.livejournal.com 2011-08-27 06:12 am (UTC)(link)
Start from the beginning, please. Games and blanks?

[identity profile] dullahammered.livejournal.com 2011-08-27 06:40 am (UTC)(link)
Sabra la Tau is undergrounds... somewhere. It's ruled by some sort of deities we call Judges who bring all sorts of different people to play games. Everyone loses their memories upon arrivals and regains them slowly, as their teams win said games. At the end, people get to go home and have a wish granted.

[identity profile] informadick.livejournal.com 2011-08-27 06:49 am (UTC)(link)
Hoooh... Sounds weird. And interesting. But mostly weird. Losing your memories must be super annoying.

[identity profile] dullahammered.livejournal.com 2011-08-27 06:53 am (UTC)(link)
Troublesome, more than anything else. It doesn't help that the order we recover them in is completely random.

[identity profile] dullahammered.livejournal.com 2011-08-27 07:08 am (UTC)(link)
None whatsoever. The best you can hope is that someone else remembers you and for them to be kind enough to share what they know with you.

[identity profile] informadick.livejournal.com 2011-08-27 07:10 am (UTC)(link)
Is that what was going on with you and the other me?

[identity profile] dullahammered.livejournal.com 2011-08-27 07:21 am (UTC)(link)
To a certain extent. We were rivals, you see.

[identity profile] informadick.livejournal.com 2011-08-27 07:26 am (UTC)(link)
How so? And how did you win back your memories, if you didn't play games?

[identity profile] dullahammered.livejournal.com 2011-08-27 07:56 am (UTC)(link)
There's a special team called Ophiuchus, divided in three sub-units, everyone on it works as enforcers and you receive memories for a task well performed.

[identity profile] informadick.livejournal.com 2011-08-27 08:04 am (UTC)(link)
Is that what you're on?

...

Oooh. Is Uraboros the team my other self is on?

[identity profile] dullahammered.livejournal.com 2011-08-27 08:10 am (UTC)(link)
That's it, precisely. Depending on how each sub-unit ranks at the end of a period our living facilities change, so the top tiers get all the nicest things.

[identity profile] informadick.livejournal.com 2011-08-27 08:13 am (UTC)(link)
That sounds like a pain in the ass. But I guess all you have to do is keep winning.

[identity profile] dullahammered.livejournal.com 2011-08-27 08:22 am (UTC)(link)
It's hard work. And not always very rewarding. But like I said, better than the alternative.

[identity profile] dullahammered.livejournal.com 2011-08-27 08:39 am (UTC)(link)
Participating in traumatic games that will either leave you severely wounded, or... dead. People get brought back to life, but the revival is just as, if not more painful than the actual death.

[identity profile] informadick.livejournal.com 2011-08-27 08:40 am (UTC)(link)
Ick. People get brought back to life here, but I hear it's rather painless. Couldn't tell you for sure though.

[identity profile] dullahammered.livejournal.com 2011-08-27 08:43 am (UTC)(link)
Oooh. Alternate Shinra didn't mention that! I wonder if it's as interesting to watch as in Sabra, though.

[identity profile] informadick.livejournal.com 2011-08-27 08:47 am (UTC)(link)
I'm sure someone will die for you to see if you wait around long enough.

[identity profile] dullahammered.livejournal.com 2011-08-27 08:51 am (UTC)(link)
Don't say it like I'm wishing for someone's death. Even if it's a complete stranger, it's not very nice.

[identity profile] informadick.livejournal.com 2011-08-27 08:55 am (UTC)(link)
But you sounded so excited, Shinra.

[identity profile] dullahammered.livejournal.com 2011-08-27 09:01 am (UTC)(link)
It's a very educational experience and I won't waste an opportunity like that if it arises, but that doesn't mean I am wishing for anyone to die.

[identity profile] informadick.livejournal.com 2011-08-27 09:05 am (UTC)(link)
Yes, yes, if you say so! I still mean it though--if you find one of those little white fluffballs, someone'll probably reboot from there eventually.
